What is CD-ROM & DVD?
CD-ROM (Compact Disc Read-Only Memory), introduced by Sony and Philips in 1982, became the standard for software, games, and multimedia distribution in the 1990s and 2000s. Its compact, high-capacity storage revolutionised digital media before USBs and cloud storage emerged.
A CD-ROM stores digital information in the form of microscopic pits and lands on its reflective surface. A laser inside a CD drive scans these patterns, converting them into binary data (1s and 0s) that a computer can interpret. Unlike rewritable CDs, CD-ROMs are read-only, meaning data cannot be modified or erased once recorded.

- How do I get my media to Capture?
- Choose door-to-door collection (HK$200, free for orders of HK$2,500 or more), drop off at our Central store, or send it to us by SF Express.
- How do I receive my files?
- Files are delivered on a Capture USB flash drive (HK$99) or uploaded to Google Photos (HK$99). You can choose both.
- Do I get my originals back?
- Yes. Collect them at our Central store or have them returned by SF Express.
- How much do I pay upfront?
- Only a deposit when you order online. The balance is paid when your files are ready, based on what we actually digitised.
