What is Slide?
The history of photo slides begins in 1849 with lantern slides made of transparent film. This 'positive image' enabled the glass plate photographs to be projected for audiences. This was only a decade after the invention of photography, but the lantern slides made a clearer image.
The popularity of slides ended with the rise of digital photography, offering more convenience. Kodak ended production of the legendary Kodachrome sadly in 2009 leaving Ektachrome as the last major slide film type. Digital photos not only save space but also can be preserved permanently, without fading or damage over time, making it easier for you to organise and find precious memories.

- Which slide and negative sizes do you accept?
- 35mm, 110/126/127, 127 super slides and 120/220 medium format.
- How do I get my media to Capture?
- Choose door-to-door collection (HK$200, free for orders of HK$2,500 or more), drop off at our Central store, or send it to us by SF Express.
- How do I receive my files?
- Files are delivered on a Capture USB flash drive (HK$99) or uploaded to Google Photos (HK$99). You can choose both.
- Do I get my originals back?
- Yes. Collect them at our Central store or have them returned by SF Express.
- How much do I pay upfront?
- Only a deposit when you order online. The balance is paid when your files are ready, based on what we actually digitised.
