What is Betamax?
Betamax was launched by Sony in 1975, bringing a new era of home video recording. It was developed to provide a way for consumers to record television programs and play back video content at home.
Betamax faced intense competition from VHS during the late 1970s and 1980s, since VHS offered longer recording times and lower prices.
